Open Auditions for Present Laughter by Noël Coward

We are holding open auditions for RADS’ next production, Present Laughter by Noël Coward!

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated people to bring this classic comic play to life.

Open auditions will take place at Allerton United Reformed Church Hall (on the corner of Booker and Mather Avenue) on Monday 30th January and Wednesday 1st February 2023, from 19.30 – 22.00 pm.

The auditions will take the form of informal workshops, and there is no need to prepare anything in advance. You do not have to attend both audition evenings but are welcome to do so.

We also have plenty of behind the scenes roles for those interested in backstage roles.

Performance dates will be Wednesday 24th May to Saturday 27th May 2023.

Rehearsals will take place on Monday evenings at Allerton United Reformed Church Hall from 19.30 – 22.00 pm. Additional rehearsals on Wednesday evenings will be introduced from late March at the same location and time.

A summary of the plot and characters can be found on the Facebook event pages for each evening:

30th January

1st February

Please note, character ages are provided as a rough guide, please don’t let this dissuade you from auditioning for any role.

What is love? ’tis not hereafter;
Present mirth hath present laughter;
What’s to come is still unsure:
In delay there lies no plenty,—
Then come kiss me, Sweet-and-twenty,
Youth’s a stuff will not endure.
William Shakespeare – Twelfth Night, Act II, Scene III
