RADS is pleased to announce that our next production will be “House Guest” by Francis Durbridge (1912 – 1998). “House Guest” is an exciting thriller written by the man who created fictional detective Paul Temple.
The plot follows famous actors Robert and Stella Drury, who are horrified to learn that their young son has been kidnapped – not for ransom, but to force them to allow one of the kidnappers to remain in their house. But later, two other men, supposedly police officers, arrive and reveal that one of the kidnappers has been murdered and Robert is suspected. However, it soon becomes clear that these two men are not what they seem, as they too demand to be treated as house guests…
“House Guest” premiered at the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End in 1981 and starred Gerald Harper and Susan Hampshire in the leading roles as husband and wife, Robert and Stella Drury. It promises to be a vibrant and exciting production, which the Director and Cast Members are very much looking forward to rehearsing and performing.
The play will be performed at the side hall at Allerton United Reformed Church on the corner of Mather and Booker Avenue, L18 7HD on the following evenings, so make a note in your diaries!
