6 reasons to catch RADS’ next show: “A Bunch of Amateurs” (May 2025)

A big hello to all theatre lovers and patrons of Reformed Allerton Dramatic Society (RADS) based at Allerton United Reformed Church Hall, Allerton’s very own local theatre!

Our next production is the uproarious comedy A Bunch of Amateurs by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman, running from Wednesday 21st May to Saturday 24th May 2025.

Both Ian (regular panellist on BBC’s Have I Got News for You) and Nick have a fair few hit comedies to their name, including TV shows like Spitting Image, Harry Enfield and Friends, Dawn French’s Murder Most Horrid, and (of course!) the film version of A Bunch of Amateurs starring Burt Reynolds, Sir Derek Jacobi, Imelda Staunton, and Samantha Bond, which was selected for the 2008 Royal Film Performance.

A Bunch of Amateurs offers an hilarious and heart warming experience, exploring the quirky world of amateur theatre with a fading Hollywood star forced into a small-town production of Shakespeare’s King Lear, promising both laughter and moving moments.
